This position is responsible for the management and implementation of logistics and warehousing processes, procedures, and projects at the Sparta Plant and AHC Distribution Centers. The primary function is maintaining the direct receipt, storage, retrieval, and timely dispatch of product across the Sparta Plant and AHC Distribution Centers. Key activities include leading the management of Sparta and AHC Distribution Centers needs as well as any material handling equipment to be used in those locations. Ongoing efforts in identifying and implementing cost reduction and process improvements are also required.

Successful management of the AHC-wide transportation program. This includes working with 4 Buildings at the Sparta Plant and AHC Distribution Centers.• Management and development of DOT and Non-DOT processes, including meeting company compliance requirements for a small fleet at the Sparta Plant.• Drive Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in all AHC Plant and distribution center locations including but not limited to transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and network effectiveness.• Support AHC organization with warehousing needs while consistently evaluating inventory requirements and the utilization of the highest service, most price competitive solutions.• Safeguards warehouse operations and contents across the network by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols. • Maintains physical condition of warehouse and distribution centers - inspects equipment, issues work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.• Manages trailer locations and coordinates with customers on drop and hook or delivery planning. • Maintains accurate trailer inventory and ensures trailer requirements (registration, inspection, etc) are up to date. • Works with plant operations team to develop production schedule based on existing customer orders and customer forecasts. • Reviews and updates customer forecast in JDE Planning Tool; • Utilizes JDE Planning Tool to maintain the Production Line Schedule.• Controls inventory levels across the network by conducting physical counts, reconciling with data storage system. • Coordinates production, distribution, and warehousing in accordance with principles, policies, and established procedures.• Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements within network.• Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees.• Oversees network team via hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and performance management.• Other duties as assigned by management.

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or related business area or minimum 5 years of experience in operations with demonstrated skills in transportation operations, warehousing, and inventory planning/management.• Excellent communication and analytical skills are essential.• Proficiency in Word and Excel are required. • Estimated 25% travel.
