Position Overview:

As a Cook at St. Joseph of the Pines, you will play a vital role in providing our residents with delightful dining experiences. You'll be responsible for preparing and serving delicious, nutritious meals while adhering to the highest standards of safety and hygiene. Your culinary skills will shine as you contribute to creating a warm and welcoming environment for our cherished residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Culinary Excellence: Prepare and cook a variety of meals in accordance with planned menus, ensuring that each dish is not only nutritious but also a delight for the senses.

  • Sanitation and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the well-being of our residents and staff.

  • Collaboration: Coordinate with the culinary team to ensure smooth meal service and assist with special events and catering as needed.

  • Quality Assurance: Monitor food quality and presentation, making sure that it meets our high standards and resident expectations.

  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing food inventory, placing orders, and ensuring freshness and quality of ingredients.

  • Customer Service: Interact with residents and staff in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring exceptional customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a culinary role, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting, is preferred.

  • Certification: Possession of or willingness to obtain ServSafe certification is a plus.

  • Creativity: A passion for cooking and creativity in designing appealing and nutritious meals.

  • Team Player: Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
