The primary responsibility of Manager, Distribution & Logistics, Great China, is to play an active role in developing and implementing a supply chain distribution and logistics with plans to support the transition to a standalone company. This role will define in a startup environment, requires a high level of strategic thinking, communicate to executives and deploy the most cost-effective solutions leveraging 3PL’s and implementing a new ERP solution.

The scope of the role encompasses, but is not limited to

· Supply Chain distribution & logistic strategy and design

· ERP implementation for distribution and logistic

· Regional 3PL strategy and execution for warehousing & transportation

· Project Management and Execution, supporting the spin

· Process excellence and Supply Chain cost reduction

· Supply Chain Data Analytics and Governance

This position will support the development, testing and implementation of the embecta ERP system. This role requires a strong working knowledge of ERP tools and capabilities, including, data management and reporting. To be successful in this position you will need to manage business requirements, project timelines, and cross functional alignment within region quality, regulatory, finance, and IT colleagues.

The Manager, Distribution and Logistics, Great China reports directly to the Associate Director, SCM, Great China.

The incumbent will create and set the distribution and logistics strategy for how the supply chain will support regional sales while minimizing total cost to serve. He/she is responsible for developing a strategy on how embecta interacts with its customers and play a critical role in channel strategy by influencing business decision within the region. The position is subsequently responsible for driving that strategy across all functions. This role will be based in China, Shanghai.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy Development and Execution

  • Develop and implementation a new China Distribution Network to support business goals, including location of distribution center, transportation methods to result in significant savings while improving customer experience

  • Successfully lead the program management for separation of Supply Chain services.

  • Ensure strategic and tactical initiatives for Supply Chain are effectively implemented to support business objectives

Warehousing and logistics Management

  • Define and implement China Regional Distribution Network to support business goals, including location and number of distribution centers, transportation methods to result in significant savings in total delivered while improving customer service, influencing regional supply chain leads.

  • Ensure full compliance to China Good Supply Practices (GSP)

  • Responsible for fast and efficient shipping and distribution systems, warehousing and managing third-party logistics providers, network optimization and delivering harmonized processes and tools

  • Manage relationship with all vendors and ensure they deliver to T&Cs of contract.

  • Manage the financial spend and performance of the company’s third-party logistics partners who are providing both distribution, transportation services and other services.

  • Optimize costs through strategic initiatives, and carrier/global forwarder and 3PL Management.

  • Enforce compliant process in the transportation, inventory, and customs areas. Manage 3PL reviews on operations, CI Initiatives and quality.

  • Ensure that the technology/processes are in place to support customer service levels at the best cost for embecta.

Key Supply Chain Operation Metrics and Business performance management

  • Ability to set annual targets, which include cost reductions, improvement in quality and service level.

  • Monitors performance and establish plans and strategies to drive metrics improvement to target.

  • Accountable for achieving service level to customers

Provide visibility to pipeline and performance data to ensure decision makers have the information to optimize total delivered costs and customer service levels.
