Robert Half Payroll Specialist in San Diego, California

Description

Are you an experienced payroll professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for accuracy? Robert Half is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our clients. Join us and play a key role in supporting the financial well-being of businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for employees accurately and in compliance with company policies and regulations.

  • Calculate wages, deductions, and overtime based on timecards, attendance records, and other relevant information.

  • Verify accuracy of payroll data and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.

  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports, including earnings statements, tax withholding reports, and other related documents.

  • Process employee changes, such as new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments, accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Assist with year-end payroll processes, including preparation of W-2 forms and reconciliation of payroll accounts.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in payroll processing required.

  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations, including tax withholding and reporting requirements.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees and internal stakeholders.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Commitment to confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive payroll information.

Duration and Compensation:

This is a contract position through Robert Half with an expected duration of 3-6 months. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
