Job Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support and assistance to the Director of Parking and Transportation, management and enforcement teams including monitoring and responding to phone calls, mail and electronic mail.

  • Primary point of contact for all incoming customer inquiries, directly or through the RIT Service Center channels; triage and disburse inquiries requiring additional follow up for resolution.

  • Process all requests and issue temporary permits including, but not limited to contractors, vendors, alumni, student exception permits, temporary handicap permits, as well as requests for guests and e-Permits. Process requests for exchange and cancellation of permits, including coordination of any credits or charges posted through credit card or payroll deduction transactions.

  • Administer and develop strategy/policy for an exceptional customer experience, relating to permits, citations, database management and utilization and support the integration of new technologies. Develop, manage and maintain documentation of all department processes with a focus on continued process improvement.

  • Complete special projects by organizing and coordinating information and requirements; planning, arranging, and meeting schedules; monitoring results.

  • Coordinate Parking and Transportation Advisory Group and Parking Appeals Board meetings, posting of pertinent notices and schedules, etc.

  • Administer, coordinate and provide scheduled and on-demand reporting related to parking and transportation operations, including coordination of reporting with the RIT Service Center.

  • Support the coordination of special events with Events Registration, Institute Departments, vendors and FMS including coordination of parking and transportation services requested and approved for each event.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration or related field.

  • 2 years of progressively responsible administrative experience.

Skills

  • Ability to collaborate across multiple constituencies and achieve the best outcomes using internal/external resources available.

  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills. Ability to solve problems related to computer system software and operations.

  • Strong working knowledge of and experience in utilizing databases and spreadsheets.

  • Ability to take initiative, plan, prioritize, and execute a variety of projects that must be completed simultaneously and on time. Ability to adjust to changing priorities and challenges in a busy environment.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.

  • Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions.

  • Ability to train multiple constituencies, as well as develop and maintain effective working relationships with them.
