Job Description:

Highland Hospital a 261 bed community teaching hospital and affiliate of the University Of Rochester Medical Center is recruiting for LPN to join our Medical Observation Unit.

The OU is a 26-bed unit with patient length of stay goal of less than 48 hours. Common diagnosis includes chest pain, falls, electrolyte imbalance, asthma, or COPD exacerbation. This is an exciting position that would be working closely with the Charge Nurse to care for patients, provide medications and support the needs of a fast paced unit. Qualified candidates must be able to work full time, 36 hours per week, day/evening rotation with every other weekend and holiday.

The LPN provides patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The NYS Education Department differentiated scope of practice of LPNs and RNs is the source of document used for determining tasks that the LPN may perform.

Pay Range: $26.50-$29.70

*The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements:

1. Education: Fulfills the educational requirements to be an LPN in NYS

2. Experience: Acute hospital experience preferred

3. License/Certification Required: Current NYS LPN License, Current AHA, CPR Certification

4. Skills (to include equipment, software, etc.) Proficient in basic word processing and computer data entry.
