What You’ll Get to Do

CACI is looking for a talented and motivated Technical Writer to join our DHS Continuous Diagnostics & Mitigation (CDM) team. The Technical Writer will be eager to learn about the CDM program, to build relationships with SMEs and content providers for reporting, and to use his or her aptitude for critical analysis of technical content.

More About the Role

The CDM Technical Writer is responsible for producing, proof-reading, editing, and formatting technical documentation to include primarily reports and reporting presentations, as well as design specifications, manuals, processes, policies, procedures, plans, proposals, test artifacts, release notes, system security artifacts, architecture documents, CONOPS, presentation materials, reports, white papers, and transition documents to support CACI’s CDM cybersecurity efforts. The Technical Writer edits and formats information for consumption through various media channels to include printed materials, email, websites, and other electronic access points.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Gathers information, interviews subject matter experts, and conducts other research in order to convey technical material in a concise and effective manner.

  • Manages assignments and works independently and actively with SMEs to produce artifacts within the established time frames and in accordance with specified deadlines.

  • Develops content for technical publications and writes or edits hardcopy and online documents. Ensures content is readable, accurate, and compliant with stated requirements.

  • Develops weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting artifacts for executive and senior leaders of varying technical acumen and the Government customer. Provides appropriate context and scope depending on the audience.

  • Works directly in coordination with staff in the Engineering, Service Delivery, Operations, and Program Management departments to define and produce required documentation.

  • Interviews and builds relationships with technical SMEs and converts technical content to internal standards without changing the meaning.

  • Works closely with members of the technical writing team to ensure uniformity in workflow and writing style.

  • Plans, develops, organizes, writes, and edits operational procedures and manuals.

  • Creates and manages document and report schedules in alignment with project and deliverable deadlines.

  • Manages updates and revisions to reports, presentations, and technical documents.

  • Supports quality control activities required to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of each publication.

  • Ensures documentation complies with all applicable specifications, standards, and other project constraints.

  • Transcribes meeting minutes and action items in meetings with Government customer

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship Required

  • There is no clearance requirement to begin employment, however, as a requirement of continued employment in this position, you must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and successfully obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entrance on Duty (EOD) suitability.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of related experience

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience

  • Proficiency with MS-Office Product Suite including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Visio

  • Critical thinking and research skills

  • Strong command of the English Language

  • Attention to detail

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

  • Cybersecurity relevant experience

  • SharePoint experience

  • Adapts easily to a dynamic environment

  • Relevant DHS or .Gov Cyber Security focused experience

  • Works well in team environment

  • Active DoD clearance preferred, but not required

Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$56,000-$117,500
