We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. The Controller will be responsible for managing a team, performing balance sheet reconciliations, reviewing work completed by others, performing ad hoc analysis, assisting with SRED audits, overseeing mergers and acquisition integration, ensuring implementation and adherence to SOX 404 controls. The ideal candidate should have at least 6 years of experience in a similar role,

experience in team management, a strong understanding of IFRSand prior experience with SOX controls.

• Leadership & Oversight: Direct and oversee daily accounting functions encompassing GL, AR, and AP to guarantee accuracy and compliance.

• Financial Integrity: Maintain meticulous financial records using QuickBooks Enterprise, reconciling bank accounts and monitoring financial transactions for precision.

• Strategic Analysis: Prepare, scrutinize, and interpret financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to inform crucial business decisions.

• Process Enhancement: Identify and implement streamlined processes, bolstering efficiency and accuracy while ensuring adherence to evolving industry standards and regulations.

• Team Development: Mentor, train, and evaluate the accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture and steering them toward excellence.

• Collaborative Partnerships: Liaise with cross-functional teams to instill robust policies, controls, and procedures, ensuring compliance and safeguarding the company's interests.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with department heads in the annual budgeting process, aligning financial forecasts with organizational goals.

• External Collaboration: Interface with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and tax preparations, ensuring seamless and compliant processes.

• Manage and lead a team of financial professionals

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data

• Review the work completed by team members to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support decision-making processes

• Assist with SRED audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

• Oversee mergers and acquisition integration processes to ensure seamless financial transitions

• Implement and adhere to SOX 404 controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

What you bring to the role

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• CPA designation is preferred

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a Controller or similar role

• Experience in team management and leadership

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards

• Prior experience with SOX controls

• Preferred experience in public accounting
