Junior Manager - New Product Reliability

Description

Gathers reliability data, analyzes, summarizes results and recommends actions to leadership.

Runs weekly/bi-weekly/monthly standard reliability analytical reports from appropriate warranty and/or new product databases.

Supports product reliability engineers with complex data queries and analyses.

Completes complex special requests from engineering and quality leaders.

Draws conclusions from reliability analyses and recommends actions to engineering, reliability, and quality leaders.

Supports Failure Reporting Corrective Action System leader as a backup for problem solving efforts, including data entry and adhoc queries, as needed.

Supports reliability engineers and new product development programs by completing product development reliability and risk management activities.

Attends appropriate functional excellence meetings.

Perform other tasks as required.

Product Failure Reporting and Corrective/Preventive Action Systems - Defines and leads a process to record, prioritize, and resolve product failures using cross-functional reviews, rigorous problem solving methods, failed parts transfer processes, data management tools, and project management practices to effectively and efficiently improve the reliability of the product.

Quantitative Reliability Analysis - Analyzes failure data from existing and/or new products by establishing failure rate models for use in assessing the feasibility of meeting reliability targets, comparing the reliability of product alternatives, estimating reliability and product coverage costs, identifying emerging issues, or verifying that improvements implemented have had the desired reliability improvement.

Applies Principles of Reliability Engineering - Applies reliability and durability concepts including failure rate behavior, life distributions, targets, assignable versus root cause, mission disabling and warrantable, to make decisions that sustain or improve the product’s availability and design life; uses principles of reliability in product design, development and support using appropriate failure rate, cost, and time-based indicators to understand if current and proposed designs are sufficient to meet reliability expectations.

Data Analytics - Discovers, interprets and communicates qualitative and quantitative data; determines conclusions relying on knowledge of business or functional frameworks; simultaneously applies statistics, data validity, data visualization, and problem solving approaches to effectively extract meaningful patterns and business insights; presents conclusions and outcomes that enable data driven business decisions.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.

Regionally applicable certification or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

99. Position will be part of CSE Quality & Reliability function to support Cummins Software and Electronics product line Globally.

100. Collaborate Globally including India with TPLs on VPI project to meet the reliability requirements at various stages of product development.

101. New Product Reliability Skill sets along with Knowledge of Electronics products design / development will be added advantage.

102. Lead Reliability Functional Reviews. Support Technical Functional & DVP&R Reviews.

103. VPI Project management for Reliability Tasks.

104. Knowledge of statistical software packages (ReliaSoft, Minitab, Weibull ,) is preferable.

105. Knowledge of warranty data analysis and life data analysis is preferable.

106. Knowledge of New Product development tools and processes of Cummins.
