Performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Reports to: Director of Medical Imaging

Essential Functions

Performs diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by the Medical Imaging Medical Director

Provides patient education where appropriate.

Instructs patients regarding the procedure to ensure patient cooperation and optimum test results.

Maintains a collaborative relationship among healthcare team by communicating information; responding to request, reviewing information sent via emails, building rapport with team members and participation in team problem-solving method such as briefs and debriefs, patient safety huddles and executive patient safety rounds and routinely participating in departmental meetings.

Work as a team member, supporting others within your chosen modality, the Medial imaging Department, as well as the hospital at large.

Works as an agent of the radiologist, collecting relevant patient information, and assisting with procedures.

Correctly and safely uses diagnostic equipment per manufactures instructions. Maintains equipment in good operating condition. Displays the ability to troubleshoot issues with equipment. Obtains repair on equipment where appropriate.

Minimum Education Associate Degree preferred in Radiological Technology.

Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Skills Certifications: X Basic Life Support (BLS may be obtained within week one of orientation, before patient care)

Required Skills Licenses: Must be registered by ARRT
