Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

The Controls Engineer, Ride Systems, is tasked with designing, programming, testing, and commissioning control systems for ride control systems, show control systems, animation control systems, and special effects control systems used in dynamic integrated theme park attractions. The role involves coordination with the engineering team, working closely with clients and other client vendors. Responsibilities include the design and programming of large scale control systems, developing design documentation, working with purchasing and fabrication staff, as well as preparing the control system equipment for factory acceptance testing.

Hard Skills

• PLC programming and commissioning

• Experience with Siemens and Beckhoff industrial control systems

• Experience specifying and configuring motor drives, sensors, and industrial control system equipment

• Experience with configuring and commissioning hydraulic power systems

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat

• Knowledge in computer networking and system administration

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar degree

• Minimum three years in a role with control system design, software development, installation, and integration

• Flexibility to travel to domestic and international job sites

Soft Skills

• Strong written documentation and verbal communication skills

• Ability to show good judgment

• Proven attention to detail and follow up

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Orlando, Florida.

Work Environment

Will work mostly onsite at Universal Studios in back of house offices and trailers
