Job Description

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the build, design and execution of our Practice Management programs to support advisors. Through content development, training, and coaching, you will directly impact the growth and effectiveness of our Advisors and their practices. You will work collaboratively within a supportive environment that values innovation, continuous learning, and proactive improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, delivery, and execution of practice management initiatives with Manulife Wealth

  • Own programs for associate advisors to support their professional development through training and coaching.

  • Own standard methodologies around the platforms and applications available to advisors and assistants and how to navigate each, enabling a successful and efficient advisor practice.

  • Liaison with internal stakeholders to develop superior knowledge of the technology ecosystem used within an advisor’s practice to support both advisors and in-field teams.

  • Facilitate engaging training sessions and workshops for advisors, both virtually and in-person

  • Apply change management expertise to drive business results.

  • Ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and up to date.

  • Support advisors with their succession planning efforts through training and adoption of tools and resources.

  • Act as Product Owner for third-party practice management applications used within Manulife Wealth

  • Contribute to the creation of career development pathways for advisors, associate advisors, unlicensed and licensed administrative teams, aligning with organizational goals and industry standards.

  • Build and maintain resources to be a one-stop-shop for advisors with beneficial content.

  • Provide onboarding support and training to advisors who are new to Manulife Wealth.

  • Train and support internal teams to drive awareness and adoption of Practice Management resources.

  • Stay abreast of trends and best practices in training and adult learning to incorporate innovative methods.

  • Assess training and development needs of advisors through surveys, interviews with employees, or consultations with managers.

  • Conduct gap analysis to identify improvement and growth opportunities.

  • Inform business plans, support teams in overcoming barriers and supervise for results.

  • Assist in implementation and adoption of new policies, processes, and technologies brought about by dealer or regulatory initiative.

  • Partner with vendors, fund companies, and internal collaborators to curate content for learning and application of practice management principles and strategies

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and encourage knowledge sharing among the advisor community.

  • Develop external partnerships with Universities/Colleges to attract new entrants to the industry and Manulife Wealth.

  • Engage with cross-functional teams to integrate advisor development into broader organizational strategies.

  • Develop best practices for client acquisition, administration, serving, and retention.

  • Provide leadership, counsel and mentorship to colleagues.

  • Proactively encourage collaboration, build trust and inclusion, and work to establish effective relationships.

  • Collaborate with internal & external customers to successful implementation of practice management solutions.

Skills:

  • Ability to quickly build rapport with advisors.

  • Strong knowledge of technology used by advisors including back-office systems, portfolio management tools, financial planning software, etc. and how they fit into an advisor practice.

  • Ability to effectively partner with internal stakeholders to get results

  • Thrives in a dynamic and fast paced, deadline driven environment.

  • Great teammate with solid interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Strong listening, consultative, and relationship management skills

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in working with advisors at various stages of their professional careers, preferably in the area of Practice Management

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in training development and delivery, preferably in a corporate or independent advisory setting.

  • Knowledgeable on various aspects of an advisor’s practice

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in PowerPoint and experience with Learning Management Systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and implement instructional materials and solutions.

  • Experience in coaching and mentoring professionals at various levels.

  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and virtual training methods.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a keen attention to detail.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Toronto, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between

$103,050.00 CAD - $185,490.00 CAD
