Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Mission System Health Monitoring Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Multi-Domain Command and Control (MDC2) business unit is developing cutting edge technology that seamlessly analyzes, fuses, and distributes multi-domain information into command-and-control systems of systems to support all domains of war.

• The Mission System Health Monitoring Engineer in this role will be responsible for one or more of the following:

• Interpret, allocate, tailor, write and flow down requirements to all levels of a system architecture

• Design and develop avionics and mission system equipment health monitoring equipment, perform hardware integration and testing, and requirements analysis

• COTS hardware design and estimate performance within the constructs of the hardware

• Trade studies, documenting subsystem architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL) with regard to supplier current and future products offerings

• Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications

• Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate health monitoring capability to meet platform mission objectives

• Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support

• Developing supplier documentation, performance based specifications, and statements of work

• Building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection

• Review documents from the supplier's development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews

A successful Mission System Health Monitoring Engineer has good leadership skills and understands the scope of the work and the impact of the work on other teams, consistently brings up concerns, issues and risks to program and technical leadership and holds the team to a high level of technical rigor.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 2 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.

• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 6 years).

• Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance

• Experience with integration of COTS electronics into military systems

• Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.), developing/maturing requirements, and tracing requirements through various levels

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with embedded systems (e.g. VITA, VPX), single board computers, networking components, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), or Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions

• Basic scripting experience (e.g. Bash, Python)

• Experience with supplier team management, working on a multidisciplinary team and/or writing technical proposals

• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management

• An active Top Secret clearance

Salary Range: $75,300 - $112,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
