Senior Analyst, Capital Markets & Risk

This position in Capital One’s Capital Markets and Analytics team offers the candidate a unique opportunity to be part of a diverse team, interacting with all facets of Corporate Treasury. An ideal candidate will be experienced with fixed-income instruments, familiar with capital markets and understand the role of a fixed-income portfolio for a top 10 U.S. bank. This position will be in a fast-paced and analytical environment where you will be handling concurrent projects in addition to the primary responsibilities of the team. A passion for introducing new technologies and process innovation into current workflows will also be a strong consideration for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the portfolio management, corporate funding and short term money market teams with other managed products, including agency mortgages, private label, RMBS, ABS, US Treasuries, Bilateral and Triparty repurchase agreements, Long and short term debt issuances and brokered deposits

  • Review trades for accuracy and promptly rectify any errors. Oversee and ensure timely settlement of all trades.

  • Ensure all trading activities comply with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. Conduct real-time control checks and post-trade audits.

  • Onboard and maintain operational relationships with trading counterparties, settlement venues, and data vendors.

  • Maintain integrity of IBOR and verify reconciliation to ABOR and custodians

  • Utilize programming language (App Script/Python) to run processes, drive data and produce reports for downstream consumption

  • Demonstrate ability to explore and quickly grasp new technologies to progress varied initiatives and help drive automation and advanced analytics

  • Assist in evaluating new regulatory changes and their impact on processes, then incorporate those changes into the regulatory documentation

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in Financial Services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience working with fixed income

  • 2+ years of experience of the trading settlement process

  • 1+ years of experience in Python, SQL, or Google AppScript or a combination

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks daily

  • Ability to work independently and in a team structure with a diverse group of individuals

  • Proactivity; ability to anticipate and suggest solutions to problems

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, knowledge-intensive, and service-oriented environment.

  • High professional standards, judgment, and discretion, including the ability to handle confidential information appropriately

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a positive and collegial attitude
