Amazon, one the world’s leaders in e-commerce, is expanding its Analytics team within the Pan-EU Programs team and looking for a talented Data Analyst/Business Intelligence Engineer, to drive the overall growth of our multi-billion business by developing intelligent ways to identify growth opportunities and build analytics to improve the ways we manage business.

We are seeking a passionate, customer-obsessed individual to help us measure, analyze and solve complex problems. You will work alongside of Pan-EU Analytics group and your work will directly impact how we evolve and grow. Flexibility and a strong work ethics are a must.

The successful candidate knows how to work with analytical tools and large data-sets, draw insights from data and partner with customers to answer key business questions. You are analytical and creative, and you don’t quit. Amazon has a culture of data-driven decision-making, and demands analytics that are timely, accurate, and actionable.

Key job responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.

  • Write high quality code to retrieve and analyze data.

  • Use coding, statistics, modelling and other analytical techniques.

  • Draw insights from data, analyze and solve business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.

  • Develop solutions that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity.

  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.

  • Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon’s data resources and know how, when, and which to use.

  • Have an understanding and empathy for business objectives, and continually align your work with those objectives and seek to deliver business value.

  • Respond with urgency to high priority requests from senior business leaders.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with SQL

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience in the data/BI space

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.

  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
