Job Description
Overview:
This positions works nights in 12 hour shifts and alternates 4 and 3 day work weeks
The Parking Ambassador is a member of the Parking Operations team and is responsible for providing direct customer service and enforcing UAMS parking regulations.

Salary: \$22,919 (\$11.02 hourly)
Responsibilities:
- Provides direct customer service, both in person and via RPMS, with parking deck equipment including automated pay stations and exit verifiers.
- Assists customers through cash/credit card transactions and may perform certain functions at pay stations remotely.
- Dispatches a field ambassador if there is trouble with the equipment or a solution cannot be provided remotely.
- Continuously monitors parking areas to help the public avoid traffic jams and backups.
- Assures safety in parking facilities by reporting unsafe driving practices, speeding, etc.
- Reports suspicious activity to supervisor/parking office. Must be comfortable communicating regularly using a radio and maintain composure in stressful or emergency situations.
- Remotely manages access into and out of the facilities.
- Corrects any access issues in the system to ensure employee/student can enter their assigned area in the future without problems.
- Records issues in the system to manage trends, reconcile, identify maintenance needs and accountability purposes.
- Conducts various types of system and data audits to assure information quality and integrity.
- Performs various clerical responsibilities such as data entry, process parking applications, citation handling, and filing.
- Assists with enforcement such as license plate checks to identify violators and making contact if necessary.
- May perform other duties as assigned including managing inclement weather.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid Arkansas Drivers license
- Basic computer skills (Preferably Microsoft Office)
- Basic office skills (entering data, printing reports, answering the phone, and making copies)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Customer Service experience

- Must represent UAMS in a professional manner; communicate in a clear, friendly, and effective way, must maintain clean and orderly uniform and personal appearance, must display proper body language at all times.
- Must be able to tolerate extended periods of time outside in extreme weather.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to read and write English and perform simple math.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Must be comfortable communicating regularly using a radio and maintain composure in stressful or emergency situations.
