You execute the scientific and regulatory affairs strategy for your respective category or categories and geographical area using your scientific and regulatory expertise and are responsible for the regulatory and policy compliance of our portfolio. You leverage your established relationships with leading trade associations and government agencies to communicate our interests, and execute policies, regulatory programs and requirements.

How you will contribute

You will deliver on the scientific and regulatory affairs strategy and compliance agenda and work with cross-functional stakeholders to assess regulatory business risks and opportunities. You will provide scientific and regulatory affairs expertise for technical regulatory developments and help in responses to challenges and crisis management. In this role, you will ensure that ingredients, product composition, claims and labelling compliance are within applicable regulations and company policies. In addition, you will provide guidance to stakeholders on developments in scientific and regulatory affairs, support regulatory impact assessments and change management, help develop regulatory affairs tools, represent our company at external meetings and advocate for our positions, and develop your knowledge of regulatory, scientific and nutrition risks and opportunities in your market.

More about this role

What you need to know about this position:

You will assist SARA Manager (Scientific Affair and Regulatory Affair) in compliance checks via specifications for the ID market and labeling for Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei. Provide support for product registration in Indonesia and halal certification.

What extra ingredients you will bring:

  • Support SARA members in checking ingredient and recipe compliance for Indonesia.

  • Ensure label compliance for Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei by verifying that Product Label Requirement (PLR) is correctly transferred to labels (proofreading).

  • Conduct compliance checks for ingredients and recipes for projects assigned under AP EXP.

  • Ensure that all required documents are in place for Indonesia product registration activities.

  • Manage technical documentation and its maintenance.

  • Provide support to ensure that the Halal certification process is robust, ensuring business continuity.

Education / Certifications:

Science background (Food Technology, Food Science, or other relevant backgrounds)

Job specific requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in any of the following areas: food product development, quality management, food regulations, and scientific cross-category & cross-functional experience.

  • Basic knowledge of Indonesia's food regulations; understanding international food law is beneficial.

  • Strong product knowledge, including ingredients, technologies across relevant categories, and process know-how.

  • Ability to interact effectively across a wide range of cultures
