Robert Half Controller in Indianapolis, Indiana

Description We are looking for a Controller based in Indianapolis, Indiana, to oversee our financial and administrative operations. The role involves ensuring the financial integrity of our operations, overseeing financial reporting, analysis, and compliance, as well as coordinating with external HR firms and managing administrative duties. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who have a strong understanding of accounting principles and are skilled in using accounting software systems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS standards.

• Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and statutory filings.

• Manage cash flow projections, treasury activities, and banking relationships.

• Collaborate with tax advisors to ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local tax laws.

• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.

• Oversee the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.

• Implement and maintain robust internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations.

• Manage administrative staff, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to foster a cohesive and efficient team.

• Coordinate with external HR firm for payroll processing, employee benefits administration, and HR compliance matters.

• Serve as a point of contact with external service providers for administrative tasks related to corporate compliance and legal compliance.

• Coordinate with external legal advisors. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, and DCAA.

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions is required.

• A strong understanding of Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary.

• Experience in Auditing, Budget Processes, and Microsoft Excel is vital.

• Must be comfortable with Month End Close, Financial Reporting, and Intercompany Accounting.

• Knowledge of Intercompany Eliminations, QuickBooks, US GAAP, and IFRS Accounting is a must.

• A deep understanding of General Ledger, Budgeting - Forecasting, Budgeting, and Forecasting is required.

• Experience in Cash Management is crucial.

• Candidates should be prepared to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an ability to work independently are crucial.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for team collaboration and effective reporting.

• Proven leadership abilities and experience supervising a team are required.

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, an advanced degree or professional certification (such as a CPA) is preferred.

• The ability to adapt to new software and technologies is essential.

• Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the specified location without sponsorship.

• This position requires a commitment to ethical standards and company policies.
