POSITION SUMMARY

As the

Safety Manager

, you will be responsible for the safety and security of our people, assets, and environment. You will lead all safety initiatives including training, policies, compliance, and regulatory standards. You will lead all initiatives and responsibilities regarding the security of our manufacturing business, including the people and assets of our organization.

WHAT YOU BRING (MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS)

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Leadership level experience in safety, health, environment, and security management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Experience in relations with Security Service Providers (Contract Negotiation and Maintenance).
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant safety, health, environmental, and security regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Proven leadership experience in developing and implementing comprehensive SHEandS programs and initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, incident investigation, and emergency response planning. Root cause assessment, Pre-Safety Startup Review experience ideal, SOP development, training, and organizing safety lessons.
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, reporting requirements, 300 log management, and be able to work with inspectors and auditors regularly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams and drive cultural change.
  • Experience in managing regulatory affairs, conducting audits, and coordinating inspections.
  • Professional certifications in safety (e.g., CSP, OSHA 30) and environmental (e.g., CEP) management are highly desirable.

WHAT YOULL DO (ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

Safety Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive safety strategy, policies, and programs to drive a culture of safety excellence.
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight to all safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Lead safety committees and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks.

Environmental Stewardship:

  • Establish and maintain environmental management systems to ensure compliance with local, regional, and global regulations.
  • Drive initiatives to minimize environmental impact, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and sustainable practices.
  • Monitor and report on environmental performance, conducting audits and assessments as necessary.

Security and Asset Protection:

  • Develop and implement a robust security strategy to safeguard company assets, facilities, and personnel.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop security protocols, emergency response plans, and incident management procedures.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and security service providers to enhance security measures.

Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:

  • Stay up-to-date with safety, health, environmental, and security regulations, ensuring compliance across the organization.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, lead internal audits and coordinate external inspections to maintain compliance standards.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee awareness and understanding of regulatory requirements.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of safety, health, environment, and security programs.
  • Generate regular reports and present findings to senior management, highlighting areas of improvement and actionable insights.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify trends, mitigate risks, and drive continuous mprovement efforts.
