Overview

Mercy Medical Group (MMG) , a large multi-specialty medical group in the Sacramento region, is looking to add a BC part time (.6 FTE) OB Hospitalist Physician to their team. Responsibilities would include covering the OB emergency department, covering patients in labor & delivery, providing emergency gynecological consults, and being available for surgical assist needs. Opportunity Highlights:

• Incoming physicians would be based out of Mercy Hospital of Folsom

• Hospital does approximately 600-700 births/year

• Join a growing program which will consist of 3 dedicated Ob Hospitalists and support from a large pool of clinic based doctors in the program

• 24 hour back-up Ob on-call

• Part-time opportunity that includes seven 12 hour shifts/month and shifts can be done as 24 hour shifts.

• Three 12 hour back-up shifts a month required (home call)

• Level I nursery with support from the Level lll NICU at Mercy San Juan Medical Center

Compensation Range: $180,000 - $200,000 / Year

Responsibilities

Patient Care:

• Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.

• Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.

• Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories.

Communication:

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

• Provide clear and concise medical information.

• Foster a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

• Document medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.

• Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.

Diagnostic Procedures:

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging.

• Perform procedures as needed

• Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.

Team Collaboration:

• Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.

• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.

• Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers.

Quality Improvement:

• Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.

• Review and analyze clinical outcomes for continuous improvement.

• Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.

Compliance:

• Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.

• Stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.

• Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards.

Continuous Learning:

• Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices.

• Participate in ongoing medical education and training.

• Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications

• A valid and unrestricted California medical license

• Board eligible or board certified in specified area of medical specialty (ABMS or AOA)

• Completion of an accredited post-graduate training program

Pay Range

$151.00 - $160.00 /hour
