Cartamundi Quality Technician - 2nd Shift in Erlanger, Kentucky

The Quality Technician will be responsible …

What you’ll do as a Quality Technician:

  • Communicate the current quality status of the production process through the Lead Operators.

  • Identify process control, control of nonconformity of product, and corrective action requirement to the Lead Operators.

  • Assess product quality – Strips, printed sheets, decks, components (tuck cases) against defined customer requirements, process specifications, and performance standards.

  • Inspect, measure, and test product. Utilize Lab measurement devices to access product acceptability based on process control limits.

  • Report nonconforming product and initiate corrective action requests. Communicate all Holds and potential process failures to Lead Operators, Supervisors and Management.

  • Disposition product, in conjunction with appropriate Pressman, Process Supervisor or Department Manager.

  • Conduct product and process audits according to published schedule. Audit quality records (to include followers and documents that effect product quality). Assess process results against requirements, specifications, and standards.

  • Additional responsibilities as required.

  • Ability to isolate product in sheet form and conduct stock block transactions in SAP.

  • SAP transactions both incoming and outgoing.

  • Inventory control / accuracy.

We’re looking for a Quality Technician with:

  • Teamwork – Communicate / Review shift duties with Quality Technician and/or Quality Management

  • Ability to be flexible and able to quickly transition from one task to another when needed.

  • Ability to be flexible with overtime to cover employees up to 12 hour shifts.

  • 20/20 corrected vision

  • Color acuity

  • Excellent visual detail

  • Keen attention to written instructions

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer operation

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Previous Quality Inspection and Quality Assurance

  • High School and above

  • Work related experience in a process improvement environment preferred.

Physical requirements and working conditions:

Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to:

  • Move throughout the entire facility to attend to various issues

  • Work effectively in teams across functional groups with strong communication skills and the ability to lead

  • Perform sedentary work on various computer systems

  • This Quality Technician position is located on-site in our Erlanger facility
