Diesel Technician

Description

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Dedham, MA.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

_

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop_

_

• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools_

_

• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles_

_

• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies_

_

• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products_

_

• Maintain own tools_

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

(Intermediate):

_

• Completes complex internal engine repairs_

_

• Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision_

(Advanced):

_

• Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools_

_

• Larger more complicated engine rebuilds_

_

• Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation_

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Minimal level of work shop experience required

Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

This is a union position.

Successful candidate will be able to work second shift in needed

This position will require a Med-Card and we will also be required to complete a DMV driving report. This position will be part of the FTA pool. CANDIDATE MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD.

• A current valid license is required for this role

• This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations

• This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical

• 3 years driving experience

• This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use

• This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

• Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age.
