AWS is looking for a solutions architect for our Storage team, who will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) helping customers to design complex solutions. As part of the team, you will work closely with customers in one or more industry verticals (Financial Services, Media and Entertainment, Manufacturing, Technology, Health Care and Life Sciences, Retail, etc.) to enable large-scale use cases and drive the adoption of advanced AWS services. You will interact with other Solution Architects in the field, providing guidance on their customer engagements, and you will develop white papers, blogs, reference implementations, and presentations to enable customers to fully leverage AWS.

Key job responsibilities

• Working closely with our product and field teams and 3rd party model providers, you will help enable new capabilities for our customers to develop and deploy data workloads on AWS infrastructure

• Design best in class storage infrastructure solutions for all stages of customer and product lifecycles.

• You will have the technical depth and business experience to deploy storage and data strategies.

• Partner with SAs, Sales, Business Development and Service teams to accelerate customer adoption and revenue attainment.

• You will also work closely with account teams, research scientists, and product teams to drive model implementations and new solutions.

• Thought Leadership - Evangelize and share best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc.

• Act as a technical liaison between customers and the AWS teams to provide customer driven product improvement feedback.

• Develop and support an AWS internal community of related subject matter experts.

Basic Qualifications

• Previous experience in designing/building/maintaining Storage environments

• Previous experience with application, server, and network security

• The right person will be highly technical and analytical, possess significant experience of software development and/or IT and storage and networking implementation including security and compliance

• Advisory/consulting experience, including some experience with global accounts and large commercial customers.

• Business fluent English and French

• Proven experience with IT network architectures, including layers and protocols (Ethernet, BGP, IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, VPN, VLAN...)

• Experience with design, implementation, and maintenance of data center networking environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional experience architecting/operating cloud solutions

• Experience with enterprise IT storage architectures and how they integrate into large-scale production applications

• Understanding of AWS Storage Services such as S3, Glacier, Elastic File System (EFS), AWS Storage Gateway (SGW), and Snowball. Use of AWS in production a plus.

• Understands the role that networking plays in complex storage architectures

• Technical enablement experience through content creation and speaking engagements · Scripting experience (Powershell, Python, bash, etc.)

• Bachelors or equivalent work experience

• Comfortable speaking to large audiences

• Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations and virtual teams.

• The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.

• Technical Communication Skills; able to bridge the gap between business outcomes and technical requirements.

• Familiarity with AI/ML and how Storage technology is leveraged for modern data solutions.
