Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Cary, North Carolina

Description We are searching for a diligent Senior Accountant to join our team in Cary, North Carolina. This role involves managing project-level accounting, performing reconciliations, and conducting audits to ensure compliance. This position is within the industry of accounting and finance.

Responsibilities:

• Manage project-level accounting by updating monthly commitment reports and preparing cost of sale entries.

• Set up and maintain commitments in Sage and CSR.

• Conduct reconciliations of project-level costs to ensure accurate reporting.

• Review and approve configurations and purchase orders on a bi-monthly basis.

• Maintain accurate project accounting files, including accounting subcontracts and proforma backup.

• Update period cost budgets monthly and conduct quarterly house audits to ensure contract compliance.

• Generate weekly reports as needed and assist in ad hoc analysis.

• Use Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis.

• Perform other tasks as assigned. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sr. Accountant or in a similar role.

• Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.

• Demonstrated ability to prepare and manage journal entries.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel is a must.

• Experience with month-end close procedures.

• Possession of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Knowledge of accounting software and databases is a plus.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.
