What you’ll do:

As Commodity Specialist you will assist in the development and execution of sourcing strategies to Eaton Filtration Business and to achieve growth, cost, quality and delivery goals. You will be responsible for managing direct commodities for selected EMEA sites in the sourcing, supplier selection and relationship building with key suppliers to leverage Eaton’s purchases. You will execute direct material cost out projects and strategies which requires global coordination with Supply Chain, Product Management, Operations and Engineering.

Further responsibilities:

  • Develops, plans, monitors and executes direct material cost out projects to achieve the cost down and project schedule goals.

  • With the Global Category Manager implements and executes on global commodity sourcing strategies.

  • Negotiates and manages key strategic supplier agreements and relationships for EMEA region.

  • Works on end-to-end projects (scope & requirement definition, risk planning and user technical reviews, RFP/RFQ with external suppliers, APQP, etc).

  • Tracks status and planning in inhouse tools and using MS project.

  • Manages the supplier identification and selection for New Product Development projects.

  • Maintains supply continuity via risk identification and mitigation, also conducts Supplier Business Reviews with strategic suppliers on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or similar studies from an accredited university.

  • Relevant previous working experience in Buyer, Purchaser, Commodity, Procurement, or similar roles.

  • Knowledgeable in supplier negotiations, relationship building with internal & external stakeholders.

  • Able to learn new commodities, processes and adaptable to changes.

  • Analytical, target, solution driven and quality mindset with focus on improvements.

  • Autonomous and proactive personality, with awareness working in global and multicultural team.

  • Professional spoken and written knowledge in English & German languages

  • Project coordination experience is an advantage.

  • ERP knowledge is an advantage.
