Risk & Compliance Executive – Captive Management, Malta

Aon’s Captive Management team in Malta are seeking an experienced compliance professional to join their dynamic team.

The Risk & Compliance Executive will support the Risk & Compliance Team in fulfilling internal control and compliance, risk management, and anti-money laundering functions within Aon Insurance Managers (Malta) PCC Limited, as well as supporting the Risk and Compliance Team in relation to the portfolio of Insurance and Reinsurance clients under the management of Aon Insurance Managers (Malta) PCC Limited (“AIMM’).

What the day will look like

  • Assisting the Risk and Compliance team with all compliance and risk management reporting required for board meetings, including but not limited to regulatory updates, updating of the risk register, and other reporting Review of internal policies and guidelines.

  • Performing sample testing on internal controls as required.

  • Monitor regulatory deadlines and follow up with the rest of the AIMM to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, and guidelines issued by the MFSA/ other regulators.

  • Drafting and reviewing procedures and systems on a planned basis from the viewpoint of effective compliance and advising as to steps necessary to ensure compliance.

  • Carrying out Fit and Proper Assessments by initiating the process, following up upon outstanding responses, and collating the results for presentation to board members.

  • Maintaining compliance records that are up-to-date and easily accessible.

  • Maintaining oversight of the periodical Insurance Premium tax reporting with various jurisdictions

  • Liaising with the appointed Company Secretary for all corporate-related documentation for submission to the Malta Business Registry and for all corporate aspects required to be maintained in terms of company law.

  • Supporting the Risk and Compliance Team with the implementation of any new policies or procedures required, as a result of new regulatory requirements.

  • Providing support with KYC/ due diligence

  • Preparing annual regulatory reporting such as SFCR, RSR, and ORSA and monitoring the submissions of the quarterly reporting through the insurance/finance compliance checklists.

  • Supporting with submissions to the MFSA and other regulators

  • Management of passport rights into other EU/EEA countries under freedom of services

  • On an ad-hoc basis support the Risk & Compliance Team in compiling information requested by Internal auditors or Supervisory bodies and assist the team with follow up recommendations

  • Supporting AML related reporting.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Qualified in either Financial Services, Risk Management, Insurance, or Law – Essential

  • Have a proven understanding of EU and Malta insurance regulatory environment – Essential.

  • Hands-on experience of the Solvency II regime in particular risk management – Essential

  • Proven background within a compliance or insurance background – Desired

  • Has completed or a willingness to complete compliance and risk management certifications.

  • Holds the correct RTW permit for Malta.
