Training Content and Marketing Manager

Location: Berlin, CT

What you will be doing:

You will design and develop training content and marketing materials for internal and external customers to support our learning and development department, ASSA ABLOY Academy. This includes training on product features and installation for a variety of product categories, building codes, software applications, and miscellaneous professional development topics.

Using both traditional and digital training and marketing techniques, you will help our customers optimize their door and hardware knowledge. The role requires the ability to think out of the box, engage subject matter experts, and deliver engaging tools that increase our door and hardware brand’s impact in the marketplace.

Key areas you will contribute in this role include:

  • Conduct needs assessment of current Academy programming to identify content gaps, optimum content delivery methods and areas for improvement

  • Evaluate all new training requests and determine effective medium for content delivery

  • Act as a subject matter expert for the software and hardware associated with e-learning development, instructor-led and virtual training, and/or video development

  • Partner with subject matter experts (including Training Managers, LXP and Content Manager, Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Technical Support, IT, and external parties) to develop learning content and translate into clearly written, structured, creative and user-friendly learning and communication materials

  • Assist LXP and Content Manager in the development of training materials including e-learning modules, videos, reference guides, PowerPoint presentations, quizzes, facilitator/participant guides, demos, job aids, surveys, etc.

  • Determine process to ensure information/content stays current/relevant

  • Provide end-user support and/or train-the-trainer sessions for employees who are creating or delivering training content to ensure that created materials align with company standards, branding and tone of voice

  • Data Analytics and reporting on overall program to determine roadmap for future content creation

  • Lead marketing promotions/campaigns for all Academy initiatives including website design and management of relationship with PR Firm (email comms, newsletter, social media, graphics, etc.)

  • Build relationships and work in cross-functional teams to better understand customer training needs. Apply this knowledge and understanding when developing curriculum

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders on development of audience engagement/training strategies, evaluation plans and ensuring accuracy of all deliverables

  • Drive the Professional Development eLearning module program with Director of Professional Development and third-party vendors

  • Process documentation and materials for internal and external Academy users

    What we are looking for:

    To be successful in this role, you should have at least five years of experience in Learning and Development, Instructional Design, Training, and E-Learning. A strong understanding of traditional and digital marketing tactics is highly preferred. Additional qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of the following platforms and programs: Docebo learning management system (or other comparable LMS), Adobe AEM web and mobile UI, Articulate/Rise 360, Storyline, Vimeo, Captivate, Camtasia, Adobe products, Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce. Experience with AI platforms a plus

  • Graphic design, video production, social media and/or marketing experience strongly desired

  • Ability to organize broad information from numerous sources into cohesive, usable, and effective content

  • Superb oral and written communication skills, including the ability to translate concepts from experts to learners

  • Compelling influence and negotiation skills, to engage individuals at varying levels of responsibility and skills

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and tight deadlines

  • Ability to effectively drive change in a dynamic and complex operating environment

  • Knowledge of the door and hardware industry a plus

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

    Education and/or Experience:

  • A bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in adult training and development, marketing, communications, organizational development or related field

  • 5+ years of working with cross-functional teams

  • 5+ years of experience in complex program and performance management

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; pleasant demeanor and speaking voice when dealing with the public and fellow employees; extremely accurate in data entry; strong attention to detail

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

    Availability Requirements:

    This position resides in our Berlin, CT facility; full time in office. Must be available and willing to travel to such locations (approximately 10%) as the Company determines is necessary to meet it’s business needs. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
