ManpowerGroup Control Systems Engineer Delta V in Alpharetta, Georgia

Our client, is seeking a Control Systems Engineer with Delta V experience to join their team.

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Strong experience in programming DeltaV Distributed Control Systems.

  • Proficiency with Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC communications protocols.

  • A solid understanding of control panels, panel wiring drawings, and field wiring diagrams.

  • Ability to work with Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), including:

  • Developing new P&IDs.

  • Reviewing and assessing existing P&IDs.

  • Creating Instrument & I/O Lists from P&IDs.

  • Familiarity with ISA tagging conventions.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience and proficiency in programming:

  • PLCs (particularly Allen-Bradley).

  • HMIs (such as Inductive Automation Ignition, AVEVA/Wonderware System Platform, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, and GE iFIX).

  • Other devices like Omni Flow Computers, ROC, and Load Metering Devices.

  • Experience in developing operational and technical manuals, including training guides, HMI manuals, and operating procedures.

  • Knowledge of Electrical Protection Relays.

  • Familiarity with Historian systems and external notification systems (such as text, email, mobile apps).

  • Knowledge of DeviceNet and/or Profibus communication protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of logic diagrams, cause & effect matrices, and functional narratives.

  • Participate in the creation and review of control panel design packages, field wiring diagrams, conduit & cable schedules, and other related deliverables.

  • Attend field verification and user requirements gathering sessions.

  • Develop DCS/PLC/HMI programming.

  • Execute factory acceptance testing.

  • Perform field start-up and commissioning, including troubleshooting support.

  • Provide training to clients, ensuring they understand system operations and best practices.

  • Offer after-hours support for clients as required.

  • Collaborate with Senior Engineering Leads and Project Managers to ensure project quality, budget adherence, and timely progress. Keep Project Managers updated on project status, issues, and any need for change orders.

  • Be willing to travel approximately 25%, including air travel.
