In 2017, our total turnover reached € 53.7 Billion while North America (USA & Canada), as one of the biggest developed market represented 17.5% making us one of the largest Media buyers. North America Marketing and Business Services Procurement organization together handles over € 1 Billion spend including various of Marketing Bought In Services such as Agency, Ad Production and Market Research, various Marketing & Sales Promotions such as POSM, Premium, Field-force, Consumer Promotions and Shopper Marketing, various Business Services such as Employee Benefits, Facilities, Travel & Expenses, Contractors & Consultants Outsourced Services and last but not least company-wide IT services.

As a Procurement Market Manager, you will be an individual contributor based in Canada HQ while getting tremendous supports from our North America Hub team. With the level of engagements getting deeper, the team has the scope to expand to one or more employees, meaning you could manage a direct report.

Has ability to handle ambiguity and to adapt leadership style to achieve high-performing motivated teams.

  • You’re a strategy guru: Excellent in idea generation, ideas that are forward thinking and that contribute to building sustained, competitive advantage.

  • You’re a dot connector: Have a deep understanding of the Market Research, IT/digital and organizational awareness, ability to see opportunities via aligning multiple groups to deliver higher levels of value for Unilever.

  • You’re a story teller: Strong at selling ideas to his/her business partners, internally and externally, translating those into effective proposals conveying our values and communicating it accordingly.

  • You’re an early adopter: Open-minded and have passion to learn and embrace new ideas.

  • Your areas of exploration include but are not limited to growing operational excellence to streamline MBS processes via early adoption of digital tools in market, incubator for new business model which could possibly roll out to North America and other markets. You are also expected to build strong connections with market and global portfolio teams on strategy alignment and timely best-practice sharing.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience

  • A tenacious dedication to solving challenges in ambiguity

  • A strong command of the English language – both written and verbal– with the ability to convey often complex data to a variety of audiences

  • People management skills with emphasis on listening

  • Demonstrated Partner Management abilities

  • Thinker, challenger; somebody who would not accept status quo

  • Willing to travel to US Procurement Hub minimum once a quarter
