Unilever DMP and Audience Manager in Toronto, Ontario

Are you a DMP and Audience Manager looking for your next great opportunity? In this role, you will promote the use of data to drive strategic decisions regarding personalized online customer experiences and data driven marketing activities. You will collaborate and guide various teams to successfully deliver data driven programs to support their business goals. We're looking for someone with a deep understanding of various targeting & analytic platforms and personalization technologies, delivered at scale.

What You’ll Do

DMP Operations and Campaign Management (60%):

  • Work in the Data Management Platform to define, build, extract, and evolve segments/audiences for use in initiatives by Media agency, CRM and digital marketing teams (websites, email and advertising)

  • Understand each LOB’s overall business objectives and identify personalization and/or targeting opportunities

  • Analyze campaign performance and implement relevant, actionable strategies to improve performance for recurring events

  • Analyze user behaviour for priority audiences and make recommendations/changes to increase performance based on goals

  • Collaborate with partners (digital marketing, CRM, Media, Ustudio, and Shopper marketing) on key initiatives

  • In partnership with Digital Marketing Analyst and Business Intelligence teams, use a variety of research techniques to inform personalization initiatives: competitive analysis, web analytics, customer analytics, advertising analytics, surveys, usability evaluations, past initiatives, market trends, etc.

  • Engage closely with the Digital, Media, and CRM leads to understand campaign performance, content, and personalization goals, define the execution strategy leveraging the various targeting platforms available via Unilever Marketing Cloud

  • Define, drive, and carry out Process, Documentation, Operational Efficiencies, Change Management, and Governance/Op Model

Business Planning (20%):

  • Work with diverse groups (media, marketing, CRM, digital and Ustudio) about strategy for personalization solutions to be used on meaningful digital experiences

  • Manage optimization projects including, but not limited to, websites, e-mail, mobile and final analysis and presentation of results

  • Collaborate with other teams to measure impact of the site experience to other channels

  • Planning and development projects about data ingestion to enable personalization efforts and segmentation

  • Contribute to establishment of data governance around data ingestion/distribution, data elements on site (ex. meta data, tagging)

  • Work on an agile team delivering sprints on a monthly basis. Take the lead on research and ideation through to design, development, deployment, measurement, and iteration

Education (10%):

  • Keep on top of industry standards and provide POV/white paper on recommended actions

  • Craft a playbook based on standard methodologies, and democratize capabilities across the organization

  • Educate brand teams on the benefits of online personalization and audience targeting

Reporting and Analytics (10%):

  • Ongoing measurement of each initiative in collaboration with Digital Marketing Analyst

  • Present findings to partners to build an atmosphere of transparency and data-driven optimization

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • 1+ years of working with a Data Management Platform (DMP)

  • Good understanding and experience using Adobe Audience Manager and Adobe Target; knowledge of Adobe Analytics and intermediate knowledge of Google analytics tools

  • 3+ years of work experience in digital marketing, martech, agency or related field

  • Understand the fundamentals of A/B testing

  • Strong analytical, discernment and conceptual ability are essential

  • Ability to provide ongoing insights on issues and initiatives

  • Be well organized, self-starting; able to prioritize work effectively and with strong attention to detail

  • Demonstrate an ability to work under pressure

  • Experience introducing new (digital) services or capabilities at a major organisation

  • Real passion for the digital world and its implications for business

  • Logical thinker with ‘data mindset’

  • Experience in working in teams yet self-motivated and able to work with high levels of trust

  • Passion for the social & digital world and its implications for business
