Who You Are & What You’ll Do

Reporting into the Senior Operator Marketing Manager, the role of the Associate Operator Marketing Manager is to become the guide in reaching Small Independent Restaurant Operators via our Canadian distributor partners and with premier national activations. In this role you will be responsible for delivering the Canadian distributor plan by developing powerful tools and national activations designed for simple and effective engagement and conversion. You will be focused on growing our reach, relevance and performance with the Restaurant Operators through our Distributors and via Club, Cash and Carry Channel. You will lead the Free Trade Operator Conversion Team, a cross-functional team of channel partners responsible for building and delivering the annual sales & marketing plan and achieving growth targets

Main Accountabilities:

  • Develop the Canada strategic plan for free trade, that addresses the overall channel business plan

  • Build and Cascade impactful conversion driven activations, promotions and tools (on time), designed to get sales to execute the plan, to create awareness, to engage, and to drive sell-out. You will work closely with our agency partners by providing crisp and clear briefs Ensure projects are completed to your creative satisfaction (simple and effective) and within budget and timeframe Deliver tools to the sales team with a goal of encouraging them to execute precisely

  • Monitor execution, and use strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to get a deep understanding of execution performance - Find new ways to measure performance, when standard data is not always available

  • Diagnose and make decisions based on your performance analysis and customer feedback

  • Scorecard performance and inform key partners on progress

  • Work closely with Capabilities Manager to ensure our sales force is properly trained in execution of the strategy

  • Prepare and deliver insight-driven customer presentations, supporting customer development with face-to-face meetings at key trade partners.

  • Fully bring to bear integrated demand creation to drive sell-out.

  • Drive Front of House brand awareness and engagement via collaboration with Unilever Canada retail on national activations

  • Plan and Co-ordinate Strategic Industry Events

  • Work with other marketing and non-marketing functions, including Retail Brand Marketing, Category Marketing, Customer Development, Digital Marketing, Finance, Training, and CD Operations

  • Proven ability to independently connect the dots of multiple aspects of the marketing mix into strategic and clear narratives, identifying insights, risks and opportunities along the way to lead and inform stakeholders

  • Run and lead national campaign activations across multiple agencies and partners from inception/request for proposal/strategy and execution

  • Demonstrated proficiency and experience in the current and complex ‘Connected Word’ digital marketing realities and landscape

Education & Experience

  • BA or equivalent required. MBA preferred in Business or Marketing specialty

  • Relevant Experience Preferred with 3+years marketing/sales experience

  • Background in food service preferred or at minimum a passion for food

  • Bilingual (French & English) would be a major asset
