Unilever Associate Customer Supply Chain Manager - CPFR in Toronto, Ontario

Background & Purpose of the Job

The Associate Customer Service Manager will lead a team that collaborates closely with customers to drive efficiencies and drive a demand driven supply chain. 

The team’s critical activities include monitoring forecast, store instocks, network inventory position, item launches, promotional activity, item discontinuations, and order patterns to provide recommendations on replenishment strategies and estimate monthly shipment volume.

The CPFR team is the expert on the customer’s system to drive continuous improvement and close gaps in service level metrics. The role requires the management of customer’s replenishment at SKU level using analytical and negotiation skills with both Unilever and customer’s information.

You will lead the development of action plans to improve Unilever performance as measured by the customers, adapt and implement UL Supply Chain best practices that apply for specific customer needs, lead initiatives to improve forecasting accuracy and ordering methodologies as well as logistics cost to serve. 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of four CPFR Analysts 

  • Build close relationships with customer contacts to help drive network and operational efficiencies

  • Act as Customer’s Supply Chain Expert and utilize information to build strong relationship and rapport with internal Customer Development (sales) team and Supply Chain Planning team.

  • Develop action plans to improve mutual KPI results with customer, issue resolution, and on-shelf availability. 

  • Analyze customer scorecard metrics for gaps vs. Unilever KPI’s of similar metrics. Recommend action steps to mitigate ongoing issues or substandard results. 

  • Support team to data mine customer information into databases for tracking and compiling Unilever performance results. Gain full understanding of customer supply chain processes, directives operations & terminology. 

  • Evaluate the customer’s supply chain to ensure that the customer benefits from a mutually integrated supply chain with Unilever.

  • Evaluating trade-off of time, cost and service to satisfy both Unilever and its customers. 

  • Must see “big picture” in solving complex issues so that results could allow Unilever to leverage initiatives with other customers. 

  • Participate in the execution (either pilot or full roll-out) of new programs. 

  • Continual change via customer initiatives that could counterbalance Unilever SC directives. 

  • Evaluating the cost & complexity of customized services with the improvement in service to top customer & potential revenue enhancements. 

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Undergraduate Degree

  • Experience: 3-5 years of relevant Customer Supply Chain/Supply Chain Planning/Sales experience 

  • SAP knowledge an asset 

  • Bilingual French is an asset (but not required)

  • Influence and Relationship Management: Manage on-going relationships to deliver value to the business.

  • Position requires visiting the customer’s office 1-2 times per week
