Our Ice Cream Manufacturing Site in Simcoe, Ontario is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor. We produce all the ice cream brands sold in Canada with a yearly production of 50,000,000 Litres of Ice Cream. We want you to essentially drive performance in a high paced, cross-functional team environment. Team leadership and team engagement are vital for success.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

You will report to the Maintenance Manager. You will work with Safety, Quality, Manufacturing and Planning departments to ensure dedicated maintenance tasks are performed efficiently and safely. You will also be responsible for 14-16 skilled trades employees comprised of electricians and millwrights.

Your key responsibilities include a good deal of day-to-day maintenance activities, with that we will have you focus on

  • Long-term people development

  • Communicating and explaining important initiatives to employees

  • Ensuring every teams' deliverables in all aspects of manufacturing

We would also have you support the sites continuous improvement agenda. Our continuous improvement plan spans a wide variety of safety, quality, productivity, cost, waste management process improvements or supporting new equipment/product/material trials as part of our continuous-improvement plan.

The Maintenance Supervisor is our critical Front Line Leader, and we expect you to have strong interpersonal skills to efficiently manage own direct reports, as well as successfully collaborate with other departments in the factory. It will be important to work cross functionally within our factory to drive plant wide results.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience in leadership within a manufacturing or production environment in a unionized facility

  • Working knowledge of plant/equipment production and procedure is required

  • Proficiency with MS Office; SAP is a plus

  • Leadership skills to manage interpersonal relations and conflict management

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Capacity to be lead formation, design, implementation, and integration of new concepts and technologies

  • Administration of continuous improvement methods in WCM, TPM or Six Sigma

  • Knowledge in AB Rockwell PLC an asset

Please note: This role is predominantly day shift but we will require you to work some shifts, including nights and weekends.
