Background & Purpose of the Job
To test, analyse, and interpret results for microbiology, raw material, in-process, and finished product samples submitted from all parts of the organization. Operate Celsis luminometer, rapid testing for microbiology. Provide timely and detailed investigation summaries during root cause analysis relating to microbiology and sanitation. Maintain micro lab inventory and supplies to ensure availability of materials that are needed for testing to meet product demand. Support the overall efficacy of the factory hygiene and sanitation program through execution of cleaning validations, hygiene and sanitation continuous improvement projects; supporting HACCP program initiatives; conducting training and development projects on hygiene and sanitation; and supporting new product launches.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
•You’re a born leader:Ensure daily that appropriate materials and products are microbiologically sampled, tested and released from the warehouse management system, PRLS, TNT, and SAP. Perform random micro-testing as required or where required for contract manufacturing business.Provide direction/technical support to Unilever Jonesboro personnel relative to sanitization and preservation.
•You’re a strategy guru:Support hygiene and sanitation projects to drive continuous improvement through WCM programs.
•You’re a teacher:Assist in the management of microbiological concerns. Maintain all logs in the laboratory. Clean and maintain laboratory equipment as required per the maintenance and calibration schedule.
•You’re a changemaker:Assist in selecting and ongoing performance evaluation of sanitizers to support a “micro clean” operation. Assist in consumer contact investigations through testing. Work with external lab suppliers and technical support to ensure that equipment is working properly.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Biology, Engineering, or other related fields
1 year of laboratory experience, Microbiological preferred
FDA experience and/or awareness of FDA cosmetic and drug regulations preferred
QA exposure in plant environment
Strong Analytical & technical thought process
Excellent oral, written communication and effective interpersonal skills; and be able to communicate test
results and deliver presentations to peer-to-peer, Supervisors, and Leadership/Management teams.
Familiarity with HAACP and other QA regulations preferred
Able to complete occasional and typically domestic travel destinations, less than 5%, as needed for training
