As the Finance Master Data Specialist, you will be joining the North America Finance Information Team and be responsible for identifying improvements in our Master Data processes and ongoing quality and maintenance of North American master data (MD) within the SAP ERP environment. This position is responsible for critical master data such as accounts, cost centers, profit centers and internal orders via coordination with your Finance business partners. You are the key lead in ensuring annual Standard Chart of Accounts (SCOA) changes are updated in SAP in support of the largest operating company in Unilever.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

You are a self-starter with an exceptional level of expertise for SAP systems and data elements maintained within Master Data. You are able to look at a process from end to end and identify areas of improvement and automation. This position requires someone with strong interpersonal skills that can manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. This person must work well under pressure and be an effective communicator who can champion Master Data to outside users. You are directly responsible for being the Subject Matter Expert and are the primary issue resolver and decision maker in this space. You take the lead for creation of documentation for all internal MD business processes and for the development and maintenance of master-data creation error root-cause. You must understand processes for creation of the Retail Product Hierarchy and Case UPC maintenance, the ability to troubleshoot issues that arise with this data and coordinate with the Data Management Organization (DMO) accordingly. You must have the ability to review and determine issues prior to assignment and the communication skills necessary to communicate back to business. In addition, this position will provide production support for data management through analysis, problem solving and technical troubleshooting when data quality issues are detected and then solved by coordinating and delivering corrective and sustained actions. This includes issue resolution from error reports, workflow exceptions and interface failures. This position requires strong communication and technical understanding due to the many systems that finance master data reaches. This position requires decisions to be made and implemented that resolve data conflicts by application of knowledge of industry standards, data management policies and subject matter expertise to resolve data conflicts through sustained solutions. This position is involved in project work, including process improvement and acquisition/divestiture support related to master data. Support includes, but is not limited to, creation and maintenance of all Master Data within SAP, regular data integrity checks, development and execution of KPIs, development of standards for data providers, documentation of current internal processes, and training to respective groups/team/individuals for all the above activities.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Work Experience:

  • An undergraduate degree in Finance

  • Relevant SAP Super User experience

  • Understand integrated systems and financial master data elements (e.g., chart of account, profit centers, cost centers, internal orders)

  • Strong Access and Excel skills

  • Financial Reporting
